By downloading, installing, or using the Plates DB mobile application or website (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Plates DB ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by an individual developer based in Washington State, USA.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have parental or guardian consent. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms.
The Service allows you to upload images (e.g., physique photos) and submit voice input. By providing this content ("User Content"), you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display your User Content solely to operate and improve the Service.
You represent that you own or have the rights to any content you upload, and that your content does not:
We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms without notice.
The Service may request access to your device's microphone to enable voice-based workout logging. Voice input is processed to convert speech to text for logging purposes. We do not retain raw audio recordings beyond what is necessary to process your request. You may revoke microphone permissions at any time through your device settings.
The Service may request access to your device's camera or photo library for uploading progress photos. Photos are stored securely and associated with your account. You can delete your photos at any time from within the app.

All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including but not limited to the app design, algorithms, target set logic, exercise database, and brand assets — are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Your use of the Service does not grant you any ownership interest or license beyond what is necessary to use the Service as intended.
The Service uses third-party services to operate, including Supabase for backend data storage and Apple's infrastructure for iOS distribution. Your use of the Service is subject to the terms and privacy policies of these third-party providers. We are not responsible for their practices.
The Service provides workout tracking and progressive overload recommendations for informational purposes only. This is not medical advice. The Service is not a substitute for professional medical or fitness guidance. Consult a qualified healthcare provider before beginning any exercise program, especially if you have a pre-existing medical condition or injury.
We are not liable for any injury, health issue, or adverse outcome resulting from following workout data, target set recommendations, or any other content provided by the Service.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any workout data or algorithm outputs.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and store your personal data, including workout logs, uploaded images, and voice input.
You may delete your account at any time from within the app. Upon deletion, your personal data and User Content will be removed from our systems within a reasonable time, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business purposes.
Backup copies may persist for a limited period in accordance with our standard data retention practices.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washington State, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document. If changes are material, we will provide notice via the app or email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property rights, disclaimers, and limitations of liability — will survive.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
